Rise and Shine

I admit- I’m feeling a little ahead of the curve for Marionberry’s Trend of the Month.  I picked up this  yellow blazer as part of my shopping budget last month from Goodwill for a  whopping $4.99 and wore it last week.  When Marion announced the trend, I said I’VE SO GOT THIS!  Done and DONE!

Little Black Dress: Banana Republic Outlet (circa 2008?)
Blazer: Goodwill
Necklace: Francesca’s (circa 2011?)
Shoes: Target (circa 2011?)

This LBD is my favorite…I got it from the Banana Republic Outfit forever ago and wear it all the time…case in point- my bridal shower in 2009 (sorry for the boxes over my beautiful bridesmaids…just practicing a little privacy, although the boxes look a little creepy!)

Adding pops of color via a blazer, shoes or a necklace really makes an LBD pop!  Especially when it is a sunny, bright yellow…it easily takes a dark dress into the spring/summer season!

  1. Love the yellow blazer! When I have to go to the “real” office in the summer, I also like to top a shift dress with a lightweight blazer (sometimes a cardigan). I don’t have anything as colorful as you, though – may have to think about adding something like that to my collection…

  2. Ha ha ha! The boxes are cracking me up!

I love that you got that blazer at a thrift shop! I had my LBD on when we came to your house. I usually wear it with a scarf. It’s not a very structured dress or anything, though.

  3. Yellow and black look so perfect together. They’re a combination of gloom and cheer, edgy and playful. One of my favorite color combinations. You look adorable. Following you now!

May the force be with you.

  4. Oooh, you’re so right, that dress is stunning! I love how it looks on you – and a LBD is so versatile, isn’t it?!
